Vintage 1920s Saart Brothers Sterling Silver Aristo Perfume Atomizer

This elegant sterling silver perfume atomizer was crafted by the Saart Brothers, a well-regarded American silversmith firm based in Attleboro, Massachusetts, known for their finely made vanity and gift items in the early 20th century. Standing an impressive 7 inches tall, the bottle has a graceful, elongated form, with a sleek, lightly tapered body that speaks to the refined Art Deco influences of the 1920s and 1930s. The gleaming sterling surface is enhanced by a finely engraved monogram “F” on the front, a personal touch typical of the era’s bespoke luxury objects.

Interestingly, this particular example is a marriage of components, showcasing hardware assembled from more than one manufacturer—common in both antique and vintage vanity items, especially when parts were replaced or customized over time. The collar, which connects the bottle neck to the hardware, was produced by Aristo, a company known for its high-quality atomizer components. The spray head, however, bears the mark of Volupté, a stylish American firm famous for its glamorous powder compacts and atomizers. Volupté’s atomizer heads were often more ornate or mechanically advanced than some of their contemporaries, suggesting this piece may have been upgraded or repaired with a preference for aesthetics or performance.

The combination of these elements results in a uniquely charming artifact—a reflection not only of craftsmanship, but also of how perfume bottles were treasured, maintained, and even personalized by their owners. Despite its mixed origins, the atomizer presents a unified and luxurious appearance, emblematic of the vanity table elegance of its time.
